My name is Fred Pickering. I started out working on cars at 14 in my Dad's shop, and it became a passion, from repairing to restoring. I entered the GM ASEP (GM Automotive Service Educational Program) Program and graduated with a degree in Automotive Tech, and Electronics. I spent the next 14 yrs working for GM dealers and working at night to grow what is now Pickering Auto. I was a Tracked Vehicle Mechanic in the Army for 4 years. While stationed in Germany in the Army I moonlighted at night with a German repair shop across the street from my base. This is were I got my grass roots schooling on Mercedes, BMW, VW, and Audi. I employ GM and Ford Factory Trained Techs with 10 or more years of Dealership experience. One of my Technicians here has 15 years experience with Asian Imports. Our work consists of about 90% referrals, which is the best kind, as it reminds us that our customers are happy enough to tell their friends, colleagues and family about us.

My goal at Pickerings is to make you the customer not feel like a number. I am one of the few working shop owners in Midland, and after 27years, my passion is still to be on the shop floor with my Techs not in my office. We strive to be the best with ASE Training and Education, and the NAPA Autocare program, that offers our repairs to be warrantied at over 6,000 NAPA Autocare centers Nationwide it is why I have chosen to Become affiliated with NAPA to offer the "Peace of Mind Warranty". We also offer services that no other shops in Midland offer, to include complete Differential rebuilding, to all Diesel engines repaired. We Repair everything, from Autos and pickup trucks, to OTR trucks, to Arial lifts.
